Willie Junior Turner (1942-2010)

Jun 22, 2010 - 07:40:59 pm CDT Yanceyville, NC (The Caswell Messenger) - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Willie Junior Turner, 67, of 645 Cobb Rd., Yanceyville, NC, who died Friday, June 18, 2010 in the Alamance and Caswell Hospice Home, Burlington, NC. He was a native of Caswell County, NC, the son of the late Willie Banks Turner and Flossie Mae Miles Turner, born June 7, 1943. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he was a member of the Trustee Board, Male Chorus, Sunday School, and he was the church van driver. He was an employee of the Department of Transportation for 26 years before retirement and he was a volunteer at the Caswell Parrish in Yanceyville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Turner, stepson, Rev. Wesley Richmond, and Sister, Connie McCain. His survivors are two sons, Willie Lee Turner of Danville, VA and Gerald Turner (Nikki) of Yanceyville, NC, one daughter, Geraldine T. Alston (Nathaniel) of Danville, VA; two brothers, Leroy Turner (Ellen) of Reidsville, NC and Wesley Turner of Yanceyville, NC; one sister, Helen Mae Turner of Yanceyville, NC; daughter-in-law, Tanya Richmond of Yanceyville, NC; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, best friends, Calvin Johnson, Raymond Evans and Bob Everett; a host of nieces; nephew; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Junior Turner was Monday, June 21, 2010, 2 pm at Providence Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Robinson delivered the eulogy. Interment was in the church cemetery. Family visitation was Monday 1:30 pm before service at the church. A viewing was Sunday evening from 2 to 8 pm at Fulton Funeral Home Chapel. All arrangements for Mr. Willie Junior Turner were entrusted to Fulton Funeral Home, 219 Dillard School Drive, Yanceyville, NC.
