William Darrell Coppersmith (1925-2000)

Yanceyville — Mr. William Darrell “Bill” Coppersmith, 75, of 583 Main St., Apt. 8-E, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, after a long illness. Born Jan. 4, 1925, in Lafayette, Ohio, he was the husband of Mrs. Kenova Hurst Coppersmith, who survives. He was the son of Mr. William David Coppersmith and Mrs. Mildred Leithe Cole Coppersmith, both deceased. Before his retirement due to disability, he was a piano technician and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Mr. Bobby Coppersmith of Florida and Mr. Phillip Coppersmith of Yanceyville; a daughter, Ms. Rebekah Wilson of Yanceyville; two sisters, Ms. Mildred Coppersmith and Ms. Hildred Bertucelli, both of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, N.C. 62 North, by Mr. John Ontko. Burial will be in the Farabow Family Cemetery. Marley Funeral Home in Yanceyville is in charge of arrangements.
