Jun 01, 2010 - 08:35:24 pm CDT Liza Orr Scearce, of 1113 Allison Road, died Wednesday May 26 after a period of declining health. She was born in Bedford, Virginia January 26, 1924, to James Q. Quarles and Minnie Shields Quarles. She was of Baptists faith and a member of New Heights Baptist Church and of the Women's Circle. Funeral service will be 11 am Friday, May 28, 2010 at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Harold Venable with interment following at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Survivors are husband Irvin Lee Scearce, one brother Fred Quarles and wife Shirley of Roanoke, Virginia, and one grandson, Rodney Orr, of Ruffin and his mother Brenda Orr Douglas of Yanceyville. Also she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, Robert L. Orr and his father Donald M. Orr, three brothers, Joe Quarles, James Leonard Quarles, Elton Quarles, and one sister Clarice Eanes.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 pm Thursday, May 27 at Harrelson Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Harrelson Funeral Service is assisting the Scearce family with arrangements.
