Frank Preston Baker, Jr. (1945-2010)

Wilmington, North Carolina (June 21, 2010): Frank Preston Baker, Jr, of Wilmington, died Sunday, June 20, 2010. He was born in Danville, VA, May 30, 1945 the son of the late Frank P. Baker and Naomi Carlton Baker. Frank was very proud to have served in the US Navy aboard the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War. He had retired from Sears Commercial Sales servicing the building industry for over 30 years. He was loved by all that met him and as said by one of his many friends: “He was an outstanding man of honor and integrity”. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Frank is survived by his wife Donna Baker, his children, Frank Baker and wife Sarah, Charles Baker and partner Jason Pegram, Victoria Lamanna, and Bobby Lamanna, grandchildren, Carter James and Frank Preston IV, sister Margaret Karriker and husband Richard, niece Martha Hall, and his beloved friend Aunt Bea. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Andrews Market Street Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum, West 46th St. and 12th Ave., New York, NY 10036.
