Oct 05, 2010 - 09:09:46 pm CDT. Blanch - Viola Weadon Bryant, 81, of 7433 N.C. Highway 62 N., died Monday October 4, 2010 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born in Caswell County February 4, 1929 to the late Eddie Field Weadon and Fannie Hall Weadon. She worked for seventeen years in textiles, attended Caswell County Schools and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
Survivors are two daughters Cheryl Evans of Pelham, and Susan Schnablagger of Blanch, two sons James C. Bryant III, Robert Neal Bryant both of Blanch, three brothers Clarence Weadon, Ernest Weadon, and Donald Weadon, and four sisters Josephine Smith, Florence Hatchett, Foy Ann Chambers, and Eva Smith. She is also survived by three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband James C. Bryant Jr., two brothers Raymond and Douglas Weadon, and one sister Elizabeth Lefler. Funeral service will be 2pm Thursday October 7, at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Jimmy Reaves assisted by Rev. James Albert. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 6 from 7- 8:30 at Harrelson Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Ok 73123-1718 or Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Development, DUMC 3828, Durham, N.C. 27710. Harrelson Funeral Home is assisting the Bryant family with arrangements.
