Frances Wray Saunders (1921-2010)
May 25, 2010 - 05:37:05 pm CDT (The Caswell Messenger): Frances Wray Saunders, 89, formerly of 432 Vinson Road, died Sunday May 23, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caswell County May 10, 1921 to the late Joseph and Rosa Murphy Wray. She worked in several Caswell County school cafeterias and was of Baptist faith. Funeral Service will be 2 pm Wednesday at Harrelson Funeral Service Chapel, Yanceyville, conducted by Rev. Barry Lane. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruffin.
Survivors are two sons Robert Saunders and wife Barbara of Reidsville, Homer Saunders and wife Sylvia of Burlington, one brother Edward Wray of Pelham, four grandchildren Jennifer Saunders and fianc/ John Connor, Jody Saunders and wife Tracy Lyn, Tracey Saunders, Kris Saunders and wife Carrie, one great grandchild Jackson Brian Saunders, two step-grandchildren Michael and Mitch Strader, and two step-great grandchildren Haley Strader and Ryan Rasberry.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband George Lee Saunders on October 16, 1994, brothers Jack Wray, Leonard Wray, Bud Wray, Joe Henry Wray, Johnson Wray, and James Obie Wray, and two sisters Mollie Shepherd and Lottie Brown. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel and at other times at the home of the son Homer Saunders 386 Vinson Road, Burlington. Harrelson Funeral Service is assisting the Saunders family with arrangements.
