Reidsville, NC - Samantha Marie Wilson Purnell, 21 of 300 Rice Road, died on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1401 Rascoe Dameron Road, Burlington, NC with Bishop Lindsey Page and Bishop Scott Oakley officiating. Pallbearers were Jonathan Purnell, Dean Busick, Shane Jenkins, James Branch, Brad Dew, Jason Lewis, C.H. Wilson and Darryl Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Purnell and Tyler Wilson. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Samantha was born in Reidsville and was a 2004 graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School and was currently enrolled in the Rockingham Community College Nursing Program. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Marie Purnell and grandparents, Floyd and Doris Hardin.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Wayne Purnell, Jr. of the home; father, Bryant Wilson and wife, Billie of Burlington; mother, Donna Hardin Stanley and husband, Gerald of Reidsville; brother, Brian Tyler Wilson of Reidsville; half sister, Melinda Smith; step sisters, Christina and Makayla Martin, all of Burlington; grandparents, Mack and Marenda Wilson of Elon; great grandmother, Nina Ryan of Reidsville; and step grandparents, Raymond and Katherine Stanley.

The family received friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 13th from 7:00-9:00 pm. Other times the family was at the residence of Gerald and Donna Stanley, 355 Rice Road, Reidsville.
