2. Curtis Edward Davis (1986-

3. Renee Ashby Burns (2000-2004)

4. Daniel Glenn Printz (2004-2010)

New Mayor for Yanceyville

"I went to every single house in Yanceyville with the exception of just a couple," said Dan Printz Tuesday night before the vote totals came in from the Civic Center, "because I feel that the unregistered voters are just as important as the registered voters. By talking to both registered and unregistered voters alike, what they want is important to me."

Printz defeated incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Fred Smith by more than two-to-one in the race for Mayor of Yanceyville.

With 214 votes for Dan Printz and only 90 votes for Fred Smith, Printz said that he felt all day long that the tide was in his favor, "I knew it would go that way," Printz beamed. His wife hugged him, Mayor Renee Burns hugged him while other supporters celebrated his victory, including Sadie Howard and James "Snake" Ashby.

Fred Smith said he wished Dan Printz the best of luck but had this advice for Printz, "Remember the people that help you, because one day they will step on you."

Smith took sharp criticism from Mayor Renee Burns in a recent Caswell Messenger questionnaire where she expressed resentment for not being included in town business when she was not able to attend council meetings and Fred Smith served as vice mayor in her absence.

Printz rose above all the bickering saying, "I would like to thank everyone who contributed to my campaign and voted for me."

Printz has retired from the State Highway Patrol and runs a gunsmith business from his home.

Incumbent Alvin Foster and political newcomer Don Donevan won [Yanceyville Town Council seats] with no opposition.

In Milton there were no contested races, Mayor Walter Lea Thomas IV will continue his public service as will Harriet Brandon, Irvin Hughes, Danny Hyler and former mayor Larry Jeffress who rejoins the Milton town board.
