Mrs. Mary Lemma Bigelow, 76, of 969 County Home Road, formerly of 5139 12th St. NE, Washington, D.C., died Sept. 9, 2010, at her residence. Born in Caswell County, she was the wife of Mr. Houston M. Bigelow, of the home. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Louis Johnson and the late Mrs. Lemma Fuller Johnson. She was retired and a member of Burton Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Houston M. Bigelow Jr. (Vanessa Lynn), of Washington, D.C., Sherwin D. Bigelow, of Washington, D.C., and Kelvin W. Bigelow (Stephanie), of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Angela M. Campbell, of Washington, D.C., and Saundra L. Bigelow, of Charlotte; five brothers, Herman Johnson (Gladys), of Burlington, David A. Johnson (Emma), of Yanceyville, Otis Johnson (Shirley), of Caswell County, Otha Johnson (beloved friend, Yvonne), of Washington, D.C., and Lonnie Johnson (Wynolia), of Yanceyville; sister, Julia Johnson Foster (Ackery), of Yanceyville, two brothers-in-law, Eddie Lea Jr. (Edna), of Washington, D.C., and Thomas L. Lea (Thelma), of Roxboro; sister-in-law, Virginia Johnson, of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Johnson, Rufus Johnson and Joe Louis Johnson; three sisters, Helen Florence, Queen E. Johnson Wilson and Annie M. Johnson Lea; brother-in-law, James A. Bigelow; and two sisters-in-law, Algie (Sweet) Bigelow and Mary McCrary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept, 14, 2010, at the Fort Lincoln Funeral Home Chapel, Washington, D.C. Burial will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the , Caswell County chapter. Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington, N.C.
